She is best known for her work as the scrappy, stern-gazed paramilitary soldier Jasmine Garza on SyFy’s Continuum for which she was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award and a Leo Award for best actress.
Her Directing credits include the Leo Nominated short film Dog Bite, which has screened internationally and continues to do the film festival circuit. The independent feature film Writing Kim which will virtual screen at qFLIX Philadelphia in November 2020. Two music videos for local female fronted band Miss Quincy - one of which won an “Award of Excellence” at the 2016 Canadian International Film Festival.
Luvia is the recipient of the 2019 Harold Greenberg Fund shorts-to-feature grant for her short film “Happiness” which will be released on CraveTV in 2021. Her current slate of projects includes the feature film “Missing Pieces” set to go to camera in the summer of 2021.
